Welcome to Debate
The Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) is the debate team at the Rutgers University New Brunswick campus. If you’re interested in debate or public speaking, we are always looking for new members.
Meetings are held in Murray Hall 210 at 9:00 PM every Tuesday and Thursday. Visitors and new members are always welcome to sit in on a round to observe our debate format or to jump right in. You’ll receive plenty of help with writing cases and preparing for your first tournament. RUDU has a full-time coach and a number of helpful and experienced debaters ready to offer their support.
RUDU has finished the 2010-2011 season ranked fifth in the nation, making it the highest-ranked competitive team or club of any kind at Rutgers. We trailed only Yale, Harvard, Brandeis, and Boston University. You could be the debater that puts us over the top!
