RUDU Civility Event in Targum

For the second time in a week, the Rutgers University Debate Union has graced the hallowed newsprint of the Daily Targum.

Today’s article features Tuesday night’s public campus debate on civility, co-hosted by Rutgers’ Project Civility. The debate featured Dave Reiss & Chris Bergman on Government, arguing that Rutgers is generally less civil than other environments in society. Kyle Bomeisl & Kevin Parks Opposed, arguing that Rutgers is generally more civil.

The Debate Union’s higher profile on campus will continue this semester with an upcoming debate against PETA over the ethics of eating meat. There has also been discussion of a future Project Civility debate involving faculty as well as RUDU members.

Meanwhile, RUDU heads off-campus – all the way to Boston – for this weekend’s Harvard Invitational, the largest tournament of the year.
