RUDU to Debate PETA on Eating Meat

This Wednesday night (December 1st), two top-ranked students of the Rutgers University Debate Union (RUDU) will go head-to-head against People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in a public debate over the ethics of eating meat.

The debate will be held at 8:00 PM in the Multipurpose Room of the Rutgers Student Center. There will be no charge for attending.

Bruce Friedrich, Vice President for PETA, will be advocating the the consumption of meat by humans is unethical. Kyle Bomeisl and Dave Reiss, third-ranked partnership on APDA, shall defend eating meat.

RUDU just completed another public debate Monday evening, discussing issues of German green energy policy with Rutgers’ Model United Nations team. The final round featured three MUN debaters against Bomeisl, Reiss, and Chris Bergman, with a close decision favoring the MUN team in the position of advocating for green energy. A video of that debate should be available in the coming days.

These public debates are a prelude to RUDU’s final official competitions of the semester, to be held this weekend in Boston and Baltimore.
